May I take a few minutes of your time to thank those twenty two people from Staunton on Wye who turned out on Remembrance Sunday morning to pay their respects to the fallen of the Parish in both World Wars. Since the Eardisley Branch of the Royal British Legion have arranged the placing of a wreath every year and recitation of the names on the Memorial, numbers at the Memorial have increased.
May I pay tribute to the fact that the numbers present reflected our society perfectly. Ex-Service personnel , young and old. May I also thank those who made a donation to the Royal British Legion, it being so difficult this year to purchase a poppy due to the virus.
Can I thank Susan Verwey for leading us in prayers and may I thank you all for a perfect observation of the two minute silence.
We shall return next year, so why not join us?
We will remember them.
Stephen Grist
